Job Description

Job purpose:

The Associate is responsible for the portfolio assigned to the Relationship Managers (RMs) that he/she is supporting. The Associate will support the RMs in the coverage of customers in the field of Corporate Banking Relationship Management, taking into account special customer requirements and involving product specialists from the Client Service Team (CST) when required.

The Associate may be required to be the deputy contact for certain customers, supporting the RMs in a value-orientated holistic management of customer portfolios, in particular both with regards to the credit application process as well as the fulfilment of regulatory requirements. The Associate is also responsible for supporting the RMs in all compliance and regulatory related tasks within the 1st Line of Defence concept of the bank.

The Associate will be working closely with the RMs from prospecting a client, preparing for internal and external meetings, articulate and present client/portfolio strategy, to assessment of client credit profile, risk rating, potential revenue and profitability forecast, credit and business committee, to documentation of facilities, and post-credit approval relationship management such as day-to-day operations and developing cross-sell with other Client Service Teams.

Key activities:

Business

  • Contact point internally and externally, in addition to the RMs, and support to the Client Service Team (CST) and the sector teams (where applicable) and involvement in securing the customers access to product and advisory specialists for all products and solutions we provide to the client.
  • Producing business plans and presentations for individual customers and providing support during the implementation of these, involving the sector specialists (where applicable) and Client Service Teams from Transaction Banking, Corporate Sales, Syndicated Finance, and Lending.
  • Providing market intelligence focusing on competitors, product developments and comprehensive analyses of companies and their sector / environment.
  • Taking responsibility for carrying out on-going analyses of credit worthiness and identifying risk signals of all relevant customers, working with the Risk Management department and initiating necessary measures to reduce risk according to the instructions of and in consultation on an individual basis and with the RM.
  • Facilitate the budget planning process in cooperation with RMs and Client Service Team members including share of wallet analyses for customers in respect of products to identify potential sources of revenue as instructed by the RMs.
  • Taking into account all necessary data quality aspects by using the IT systems and applications made available by the bank.
  • Responsible for product advice on all aspects of lending, including credit rating creation, prolongation/new business, in-depth analysis of creditworthiness documents for the creation of loan applications for complex products as well as preliminary calculation of Value Manager / LPP / RWA efficiency analysis
  • Taking responsibility of originating and structuring the transactions in compliance with internal credit and pricing guidelines in a responsible and risk-aware manner.

Compliance / Regulatory

  • Adherence to the bank's governance policies and procedures and related Compliance tasks within the 1st Line of Defence concept of the bank.
  • Autonomously stay informed about compliance and regulatory requirements for the own area of expertise.
  • Timely collection of all administrative documents drawdown notice, passport copies, etc. and any documentation required for KYC / AML purposes.
  • Acting in line with the Code of Conduct and ComWerte and especially uphold the Culture of Integrity at all times.

Education and Professional Requirements:

Education

  • Degree

Professional experience

  • Relevant RM/ARM experience (3-5 years) in Corporate Banking Department with local or international banks.
  • Knowledge of AML/KYC, Corporate Banking Products, Credit Assessment, and daily operational matters are required.

Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification):

  • Active response to requests from clients in new situations after preparation and follow up discussions with RMs
  • Identification of problems and all relevant issues in simple situations
  • Development of possible solutions and their evaluation using standard procedures well-grounded decision­making to discuss with manager prior client contact
  • Organization and prioritization of own work, including deployment of required resources
  • Presentation of information in an appropriate style convincing of others/clients in standard situations building and maintaining of productive and stable working relationships with colleagues
