Internal Communications Manager, JAPAC
Regional Engagement Focus
We are seeking a highly strategic Internal Communications Manager (6-month contract) to lead and execute comprehensive internal communications across the Asia-Pacific and Japan (JAPAC) region, specifically supporting the Director, JAPAC Communications and driving cohesive regional employee engagement. The ideal candidate excels at tailoring corporate messages for diverse markets and delivering a unified employee experience across JAPAC.
Role and Responsibilities
- Regional Strategy Development & Execution:
- Execute a dedicated internal communications strategy for the entire JAPAC region that actively engages employees, ensures alignment with the regional leadership's vision, and effectively cascades key corporate messages across diverse markets.
- Create a detailed, region-specific communications plan and gain buy-in from key regional and global stakeholders.
- Track ongoing metrics to measure regional engagement success and pivot strategies based on data and localised audience feedback.
- Executive Communications Support:
- In partnership with the Director, JAPAC Communications, provide direct internal communications support to the President, JAPAC, translating their strategic direction and organisational priorities into clear and actionable internal narratives for the team.
- Draft communications for wide-scale organisational changes, new leadership announcements, and shifts in business strategy impacting the JAPAC region.
- Content Creation & Management:
- Develop compelling content for a variety of internal communications media, such as the company intranet and Slack channels along with in-office screens (in partnership with the employee brand team), ensuring content is culturally sensitive and relevant to the JAPAC audience.
- Ensure all internal communications messages are consistent across all channels within the JAPAC region, reflecting a unified voice.
- Coordinate, with the sales operations team JAPAC regional wins of the month for company-wide All Hands, newsletters and other internal channels.
- Event & Program Support:
- Co-create content (e.g., emails, slides) to support large regional internal sessions and events such as JAPAC-specific All Hands and leadership meetings.
- Support broad innovation-driven internal events with relevant, regionally tailored content, focusing on engagement and connectivity.
- Stakeholder Management & Alignment:
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders across various functions and locations within JAPAC, as well as at HQ, to ensure communications are aligned with the President's priorities and global senior leadership direction.
- Culture & Recognition:
- Support recognition program, specifically quarterly JAPAC awards.
- Create employee profiles and recognition content for JAPAC internal events and channels.
- Organise quarterly coffee connect sessions, an in-person event for the President and employees
Required Qualifications
To excel in this role, the Internal Communications Manager, JAPAC, should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field, with a significant focus on supporting a specific region (ideally JAPAC).
- Regional Expertise: Proven ability to develop and execute communications strategies tailored for diverse cultures and distributed teams across the JAPAC region.
- Executive Support: Demonstrated success in directly supporting and counseling senior regional executives (C-suite or VP level) on sensitive internal communications, organisational change, and messaging.
- Strategic Planning: Expert knowledge of communication planning, channel management, message development, and stakeholder mapping.
- Measurement: Experience tracking communication metrics and leveraging data to measure the effectiveness of internal campaigns and inform future strategy (e.g., using engagement rates, readership analysis).
- Content Creation: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, concise, and compelling communications (emails, presentations, intranet articles) under tight deadlines.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to build strong, positive working relationships with stakeholders across different time zones, functions (People, Legal, Marketing), and seniority levels.
