Our Client is a reputable player in the hospitality industry. An exciting job opportunity has arisen to hire an Internal Auditor to join their team. This is an excellent role for external auditors to gain some commercial exposure.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Internal Auditor reports into and supports the Senior Manager in executing the annual Audit Plan and performing ad-hoc duties as required. The role involves conducting assurance, advisory, and special audits to evaluate internal controls, enhance processes, and strengthen governance across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute audit projects(assurance/advisory/special audits) as assigned by the Senior Manager.
- Perform risk assessments and apply data analytics tools to support sampling and audit testing.
- Conduct walkthroughs, interviews and document the process review to identify weaknesses as well as opportunities for internal control improvements and enhancement of business processes.
- Test the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
- Identify control gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Evaluate compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Propose practical recommendations to address issues and enhance operational efficiency.
- Prepare clear and concise working papers, findings and recommendations.
- Assist in drafting audit reports and presentations.
- Present audit findings confidently and succinctly to management in closing meetings.
Desired Profile
- Minimum 2 to 3+ years of External or Internal Audit experience (Big Four/Mid-Tier Accounting firm preferred).
- Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.
- Experience in North America and Asia environments preferred.
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent such as ACCA.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA or CFE are advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to details, and critical thinking.
- Self-motivated and independent, strong team player and a growth mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Access) with a general understanding of data analytics techniques (knowledge of Power Query is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin, both written and oral.
- Willing and able to travel (30%, typically 3 weeks project cycles, at minimum).
