A well-established regional energy player is seeking an experienced Internal Audit professional to help shape and drive its newly established Internal Audit function in Singapore, which will serve as the regional hub for APAC operations. In return, you can expect a competitive remuneration package of up to $90,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute audits covering financial controls, compliance, and operational areas with minimal supervision.
- Plan and scope audit engagements, manage timelines and budgets, and conduct opening and closing meetings with stakeholders.
- Apply global internal audit standards, leveraging data analytics and structured sampling methods to identify risks and recommend improvements.
- Draft clear, concise internal audit reports and monitor the timely closure of audit findings.
- Develop and maintain a risk-based annual internal audit plan.
- Review and assess policies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and recommend enhancements to strengthen internal controls.
- Examine financial statements for irregularities and support fraud detection and investigation activities in collaboration with Finance, Legal, and external counsel.
- Support Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiatives by gathering business intelligence, conducting stakeholder interviews, and identifying key risk exposures.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to embed a strong culture of governance, compliance, and operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy or related discipline; professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CFE preferred.
- 510 years of internal audit or combined internal/external audit experience, ideally within multinational companies.
- Strong exposure to internal control best practices and multicultural work environments; prior experience in regional or cross-border audits is advantageous.
- Experience in identifying and mitigating risks, with a balanced approach to making practical, value-adding recommendations.
