Job Description

Our client is a prominent real estate investment and fund management firm with a strong regional footprint. We are assisting them in hiring an Internal Audit Manager to support their ongoing business expansion. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and take ownership of the internal audit function across the Asia-Pacific region, collaborating closely with senior management and the board.

Core Responsibilities

Internal Audit & Risk Program
  • Establish and maintain a risk-based audit plan aligned with business objectives, regulatory expectations, and fund structures.
  • Conduct audits across fund operations, governance, compliance, valuation processes, outsourcing arrangements, and operational risk.
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls and provide actionable recommendations.
Regulatory & Governance Oversight
  • Assess adherence to Singapore regulatory requirements, including MAS licensing conditions, internal controls, and business conduct standards.
  • Review governance frameworks, escalation procedures, segregation of duties, and management oversight.
  • Assist with regulatory inspections and respond to audit-related queries as necessary.
Audit Execution & Reporting
  • Deliver detailed internal audit reports with risk-focused, practical recommendations for management and the board.
  • Track audit findings and follow up to ensure timely remediation and closure.
  • Maintain comprehensive audit documentation and working papers in accordance with professional standards.
External & Regional Coordination
  • Collaborate with external auditors on scoping, planning, and deliverables for the Singapore operations.
  • Coordinate audits and reviews across Australia and Korea, including engaging local advisers as required.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with senior management, investment teams, finance, operations, and compliance functions to identify risk areas and assess business processes.
  • Provide constructive challenge while maintaining a pragmatic, business-oriented approach.
Candidate ProfileExperience & Expertise
  • 67 years of experience in internal audit, risk, compliance, or external audit within fund management, asset management, or financial services.
  • Prior exposure to real estate funds, REIT managers, private funds, or asset managers is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with MAS-regulated entities and Singapore's regulatory environment.
Regional Exposure
  • Understanding of fund management or asset management businesses in Australia and/or Korea is an advantage.
  • Experience coordinating cross-border audits or working with regional stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Professional designation such as CIA, CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
  • 67 years in internal audit, risk, compliance, or external audit within fund or asset management, or financial services.
  • Experience with real estate funds, REIT managers, or private funds is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of MAS-regulated entities and Singapore regulatory framework.
  • Exposure to cross-border operationsacross Asia Pacific.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong knowledge of risk-based auditing, governance, and internal controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Independent, detail-oriented, and capable of exercising sound judgment.
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, growing organisation with a hands-on approach.
