Job Description

ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Global Centre forMaritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) was established as anindependent, non-profit organisation on 1 August 2021 to helpinternational shipping decarbonise through pilots and trials. Its missionis to support decarbonisation through four pillars: shaping standards,deploying solutions, financing projects, and fostering collaboration acrosssectors.

GCMD was founded with thesupport of industry partners, alongside funding from the Maritime and PortAuthority of Singapore (MPA) for qualifying research and developmentprogrammes. Since its founding, GCMD has expanded its ecosystem to include morethan 130 centre- and project-level partners contributing funds, expertise, andin-kind support to pilot, accelerate the deployment, and scale theadoption of decarbonisation solutions.

GCMD has launched four keyinitiatives to close technical and operational gaps in: enabling ammoniaas a marine fuel, developing an assurance framework for drop-in green fuels,unlocking the carbon value chain through onboard carbon capture and articulatingthe value chain of captured carbon dioxide, as well as closing thedata-financing gap to scale the adoption of energy efficiency technologies.

GCMD is strategicallylocated in Singapore, the world's largest bunkering hub and busiesttranshipment port.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Partnerships Intern will support the development and management of GCMD's strategic partnerships, including emerging markets research, coordination, and delivery across ongoing initiatives, and provide hands-on support for partnership-led events.

1. Partner Engagement

. Support engagement with industry partners, governments, and international organisations.

2. Research Analysis

. Conduct research and analysis on maritime decarbonisation, policy developments, and industry trends.

3. Communication

. Coordinate internal inputs and external communications related to partnerships and projects.

4. Event Coordination & Execution

. Provide end-to-end event support, including procurement of services, managing of logistics, vendor coordination, stakeholder liaison, and on-the ground assistance.

5. Administrative Tasks:

. Assist with the preparation of briefs, presentations, reports, and meeting materials.

. Track partnership activities and maintaining records, contact lists, and databases.

. Support the organisation of meetings, workshops, and events with partners.

. Provide general project and administrative support to the Partnerships team as required.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Undergraduate student from a recognised university (prior internship(s) experience preferred).
  • Academic background in Economics, Maritime Studies, Sustainability, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Strong interest in international affairs, sustainability, and maritime decarbonisation.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities.
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Well organised, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to workindependently in a fast-paced environment.
