As a Mechanical Simulation Intern, you will support the mechanical simulation and product validation team in analyzing and improving hearing aid designs through simulation, testing, and data analysis. You will contribute to simulation studies, workflow automation, and validation activities, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development and innovation. This role offers hands-on exposure to mechanical simulation tools, product testing, and engineering workflows within the medical device industry.

What you will do

  • Apply simulation and analytical methods to support mechanical design validation and product development activities
  • Use coding tools and scripting (e.g. Python) to develop simple automation, data analysis, or result visualization tools
  • Assist in conducting DOE, simulation, and analytical studies by parameterizing key variables and evaluating results
  • Perform data post-processing and analysis to identify trends, sensitivities, and key influencing factors
  • Support correlation of simulation results with physical test data and contribute to developing reusable methodologies
  • Assist in impact testing of hearing aids using equipment such as Pendulum Testers or Drop Impact Testers
  • Compare and correlate physical test results with simulation outputs to support design validation

What you bring

  • Familiarity with and strong interest in simulation tools and software (e.g. Abaqus, Python, or similar)
  • Exposure to CAD software (e.g. Creo, SpaceClaim, or similar)
  • Familiarity with coding/scripting tools for automation or data analysis
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities in a collaborative environment
  • Passion for creating positive impact through assistive technologies or medical devices
  • Interest in the medical device industry is an advantage.
