What The Role Is
Under the internship programme, you will be attached to the Community Partnerships Department (CPD) in HDB's Community Relations Group. This internship offers the opportunity to be part of the planning of engagement programme for seniors, including a new initiative that supports seniors living alone in Tengah. You will gain hands-on experience in community engagement, volunteer management, and programme planning, while helping to shape meaningful activities that strengthen social connections in the neighbourhood.
What You Will Be Working On
As an intern, you will assist the team in conceptualising and coordinating volunteer activities designed to engage seniors living alone. This includes conducting research on best practices in senior engagement, developing outreach strategies and training materials for volunteers, and supporting programme planning and implementation. You will also have the opportunitity to work directly with volunteers and be involved in stakeholder liaisons to see to meaningful and inclusive activities that meet the needs of target residents. You will also learn how to document outcomes and prepare reports that capture the impact of the programme. You should have a strong interest in community work, volunteering, and senior engagement, along with good organisational and interpersonal skills.
What We Are Looking For
Internship Period: Between May 2026 - Aug 2026
Preferred Disciplines: Social Sciences, Communications. Applicants with prior experience or skills in volunteer programme planning, community engagement for seniors, or knowledge in gerontology and ageing-related initiatives are preferred.
