Job Description

The Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2024 to harness technology and foster innovation for more efficient, resilient, and inclusive financial ecosystems through global partnerships. GFTN organises convening forums, offers advisory services on innovation ecosystems, provides access to transformative digital platforms, and invest in technology startups with the potential for growth and positive social impact through its venture fund.

Role Overview

The Intern, Corporate Communications will support GFTN's communications function across its global platforms, including GFTN Forums and the Singapore FinTech Festival.

This role offers hands on exposure to media relations, strategic communications, and content development within a fast paced international financial and technology ecosystem. The intern will assist in researching, drafting and coordinating communications materials while gaining practical experience working alongside senior communications and marketing professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Media Research & Intelligence

  • Conduct media research on key topics, regions and industries relevant to GFTN's global platforms
  • Prepare a weekly media intelligence summary highlighting relevant news, emerging trends and key narratives
  • Identify journalists, editors, commentators and potential speakers referenced in media coverage who may be relevant for GFTN outreach or speaking engagements
  • Track developments in fintech, digital finance, AI, digital assets, and global financial policy

Media & Public Relations Support

  • Assist the team in researching, editing and formatting press releases, announcements, speeches and briefing materials
  • Support the coordination and distribution of media releases to regional and international media lists
  • Maintain and update media contact databases, outreach trackers and distribution lists
  • Assist with media monitoring, coverage tracking and post announcement reporting

Editorial & Content Support

  • Edit and proofread all communications content for accuracy, clarity, tone and brand alignment
  • Support the team in content development for GFTN Forums, the Singapore FinTech Festival and related initiatives
  • Assist in preparing talking points, Q&A documents, briefing notes and internal communications materials

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Marketing, Content and Sales team to align messaging across campaigns and platforms
  • Support coordination between communications, marketing and events teams, particularly during major forums and global convenings
  • Assist with scheduling and internal approvals workflows

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Assist with communications calendars, planning timelines and team coordination
  • Support the preparation of reports on media reach, engagement and messaging impact
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Communications team as required

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate student (preferred fields include Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, Marketing or related disciplines)
  • Strong written English and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communications
  • Interest in media, public affairs, fintech, digital economy or global events
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, international environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; familiarity with media monitoring tools is an advantage
  • Proficiency in more than one language is a plus
  • Knowledge or interest in digital finance and emerging technologies is an advantage
