This role will primarily support a large-scale infrastructure project, working closely with the project's design and technical leadership to develop, manage, and extend computational workflows throughout the design and delivery process.

The Computational Designer will apply architectural and urban design knowledge alongside advanced computational methods to support the generation, rationalization, and documentation of complex architectural systems. This role requires close collaboration with a large interdisciplinary team and involves taking ownership of computational models, Grasshopper definitions, and project geometry as they evolve through the design and documentation phases.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project-Based Work

  • Support a large, complex infrastructure project through the development and maintenance of computational design workflows.
  • Take ownership of existing project Grasshopper definitions, Rhino models, and related computational tools developed by the project's design team.
  • Manage and extend computational models to support evolving project requirements and design development.
  • Coordinate geometry and data between Rhino, Grasshopper, and Revit models to support design development and project documentation.
  • Assist with the rationalization and documentation of complex geometry for later stages of project delivery.
  • Work closely with a large, multidisciplinary project team to support design, coordination, and technical problem solving.
  • Produce clear visualizations and diagrams that communicate design intent, options, and performance trade-offs.
  • Support project team members in understanding and utilizing project computational workflows.
  • Coordinate with the KPF Computational Design team on Rhino and Grasshopper infrastructure and standards.
  • Document project-specific computational workflows where appropriate for future reuse.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Architecture, Computational Design or related field.
  • Five to Seven Years of Professional experience working on architectural projects through later stages of delivery, including construction documentation and construction administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, Rhino, and Grasshopper.
  • Experience working with large, international project teams.
  • Experience coordination with consultants, mainly structural and enclosure.
  • Experience managing or maintaining computational models within active project environments.
  • Experience with Elefront, Object Attributes, and advanced Data Management.
  • Strong graphic communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational ability.
