Interior Designer - Job Scope & Responsibilities

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing design concepts, preparing technical drawings, and coordinating project execution from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts, mood boards, space planning, and material selections based on client requirements

• Prepare design presentations, 3D visualizations, and material/sample boards

• Produce detailed construction drawings, layouts, and specifications (e.g. floor plans, elevations, sections, joinery details)

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure design intent is achieved

• Manage project timelines, design deliverables, and revisions

• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications

• Assist in cost estimation, budgeting, and value engineering where required

• Source furniture, fixtures, finishes, and accessories liaise with vendors for pricing and lead times

• Resolve design and site-related issues during construction and installation stages

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards

Optional / Added-Value Responsibilities (if applicable)

• Handle client presentations and design pitches

• Manage junior designers or interns

• Support procurement, styling, and final handover

• Assist in branding, marketing visuals, or social media content

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or related field

• Proficiency in design software (e.g. AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, Revit, Photoshop, etc.)

• Strong sense of space planning, materials, colors, and detailing

• Good communication and presentation skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving and coordination skills

Experience Level (Customize as needed)

• Junior Interior Designer: 0-2 years experience

• Interior Designer: 2-5 years experience

• Senior Interior Designer: 5+ years experience
