Scope of role:

The Account Management Community is at the very heart of the business and critical to its market perception and business health. This community is therefore tasked with creating a recognized market-leading position in implementational / executional management and client servicing.

Reporting Structure:

  • You will report to the Account Director.
  • You are expected to manage your team (of an Account Executive) as well as any specialist delivery services that are being deployed in your business.

The role encompasses:

1. Account management and campaign leadership.

2. Involvement in briefing, ideation, and media strategy development process.

3. Identifying innovative collaboration opportunities for campaigns.

4. Identifying growth opportunities for our investment portfolios through strategic planning.

5. Ensuring error-free implementation of media plans across teams.

6. Optimizing campaigns in real-time to address business needs and challenges.

7. Delivering operational excellence by adhering to timelines across deliverables such as reporting, invoicing, etc.

8. Training and development of direct reports.

9. Proactive sharing of learnings with wider teams to ensure best practices are being implemented.

10. Networking and media partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Origination of the Media Plan

  • Working with the Account Director and client to create clear and coherent plans that bring the media strategy to life.
  • In-depth assessment of all candidate media options and detailed recommendation of proposed communication solutions.
  • Involvement in creative development workshops as required.
  • Working closely with the Account Director in your team to ensure smooth and relevant translation from strategy to plan.
  • Assess, identify, and recommend creative media initiatives that deliver greater strategy depth and impact to the media plan.
  • Undertake the implementation of agreed initiatives, including the briefing of third parties, as and when required.

2. Management of the implementational process and client relationship management

  • Origination of detailed briefs for relevant third-party units (e.g. the Buying Unit, Direct etc), working withthe Account Director.
  • Day to day management and ownership of implementation process - ensure brief is delivered / brought to plan, within appropriate criteria (budget, target etc.).
  • Principal clients contact for the whole implementation process (from presentation of detailed recommendations to negotiation and inventory management issues).
  • Collation and reporting of competitive data (when relevant).
  • Timely delivery and upkeep of all relevant reporting systems and templates (media plans, contact reports, status reports).
  • Post campaign reporting that quantifies the value of the media strategy.

3. Development and direction of Account Executive(s) and Planner(s)

  • Clear delegation and clarity when it comes to all basic tasks so Manager is able to step up taking on more responsibility from Account Director.

Experience required:

  • Tertiary qualified, 4-5 years of industry experience strong media planning & buying experience.
  • Good understanding of media fundamentals and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Experience in managing a team would serve as an advantage.
  • Sound understanding of digital media platforms is a plus.
  • Strong client facing communication & presentation skills.
