Role Overview
1291 Group is seeking an Insurance Sales Representative to join their Singapore office and support the continued growth of a Japanese-speaking client segment. This full-time role focuses on developing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and their professional advisers, and on promoting cross-border insurance-based wealth protection solutions. Proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) is required for this role to effectively engage with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and their professional advisers (e.g. lawyers, trustees, private bankers, and wealth planners)
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned client segment
- Present and explain 1291 Group's insurance and wealth protection solutions in a client-focused manner
- Work closely with internal teams to support smooth onboarding and ongoing client servicing
- Keep up to date with relevant regulatory and market developments affecting cross-border planning
- Represent 1291 Group at client meetings, events, and networking activities in Singapore and the region
- Carry out other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Strong client relationship management and business development skills
- Good communication skills, with confidence engaging high-net-worth individuals and senior advisers
- Ability to explain technical, legal, and insurance concepts in a clear and client-friendly manner
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity
- Comfortable working in an international, multi-jurisdictional environment
- Proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) is required to effectively engage with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders
Education & Experience
- A qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Relevant experience in financial services, insurance, private banking, wealth management, or related commercial roles
- Experience working with Japanese-speaking clients or Japan-related business, as the role involves regular engagement with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders. Familiarity with Japanese business practices will support effective client engagement.
