Our client is seeking an Insurance Specialist professional to leverage the accessibility of Singapore's insurance market, together with its extensive network of insurers, brokerage channels, and diverse range of insurance solutions.
The role will focus on developing, integrating, and aligning international insurance resources across transportation, property, and credit insurance. It will also support and enhance the company's existing freight and property insurance programmes.
Responsibilities & Duties:
International Insurance Market Development:
Expand and establish connections with key international insurance companies and brokers.
Research and analyze insurance products such as freight, property, and credit insurance.
Monitor the latest developments in the global insurance market.
Insurance Planning and Implementation:
Design tailored insurance programs (freight, warehousing, credit) based on the company's commodity trading and mining investment needs, addressing risks in cargo management and counterparty management.
Optimize existing insurance programs and ensure their effective implementation using international insurance resources.
Insurance Contract Management:
Review insurance contract terms.
Participate in negotiations, finalization, and renewal of insurance contracts.
Claims Management:
Handle the submission, tracking, and resolution of insurance claims.
Additional Duties:
Complete other tasks assigned by the department
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance, with exposure to transportation, property, or credit insurance experience supporting commodity trading is an advantage.
Professional insurance qualifications or international certifications (e.g., CPCU, CII) preferred.
Strong knowledge of international insurance markets, including key institutions, brokers, products (freight, property, credit), coverage structures, and claims processes.
Solid understanding of commodity trading dynamics with proven capability in risk assessment, mitigation, and insurance programme design.
Strong track record in identifying, evaluating, and managing risk exposures in complex environments.
Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to perform in fast-paced and high-pressure settings.
Collaborative mindset with effective stakeholder management abilities.
Fluency in English and Mandarin to engage with regional and international counterparties.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis, and report preparation.
