An established maritime organization is seeking a Marine Insurance & Claims professional to support the management of insurance matters and claims handling across vessel operations. The role involves coordinating with insurers, surveyors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the effective reporting, documentation, and resolution of maritime incidents and claims.
Responsibilities
- Manage marine insurance claims across vessel operations, including collisions, property damage, cargo claims, pollution, salvage, and personal injury cases.
- Report incidents to Hull & Machinery (H&M) insurers and Protection & Indemnity (P&I) Clubs, coordinating with surveyors, insurers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective claim handling.
- Prepare and maintain claims documentation, monitor case progress, and support timely resolution and settlement.
- Liaise with internal teams and external parties to ensure proper follow-up, claim submissions, and reimbursements.
- Assist with insurance administration, reporting, and other related tasks as required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Maritime, Law, Insurance, or related discipline.
- Preferably with prior experience in P&I Clubs, shipowners, or within an insurance & claims team.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant claims handling experience in the maritime sector; candidates with 58 years of marine insurance/claims experience are strongly preferred.
- Senior-level candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in marine insurance and claims management.
- Familiarity with H&M and/or P&I insurance is advantageous.
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
