Key Responsibilities
- Improve work safety and work quality.
- Ensure proper control and utilization of material resources.
- Read all mechanical drawings and simple instructions.
- Calculate arithmetic on lengths, angles, scales, conversion of unit, etc.
- Familiar with location of major equipment onboard vessels.
- Start-up marine system and handover to operation.
- Review the production work processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate and build a good rapport with both internal and external parties (Surveyors and Clients).
- Assist the Foremen/ Engineers in supervising the workforce:
- Look after the welfare of his workers .
- Ensure the discipline of his workers.
- Ensure the safety of his workers.
- Deploy and utilize manpower effectively.
- Assist the Foreman/ Engineer to arrange inspections with third party (Surveyors and Client).
- Ensure that all standard operating procedures comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Any other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Work Experience
QUALIFICATION (S) :
- Higher NITEC or Certificate in Marine Institute or GCE N Level. Foreign Diploma/ Degree
holders are also acceptable.
Working Experience/ Knowledge
- Possess working experience related to Shipyard work Experience and sea going experiences.
Competencies
- Familiar with Ship systems
- Able to read P&IDs and SLDs
- Basic understanding of Electrical and Instrumentation systems and automations (or) Basic
understanding of Ship systems piping and equipment
- Able to read Motor Starters and schematic diagrams (or) Piping ISO drawings
- Trouble shooting
- Ship Repair Experience
