Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and implement instrumentation and control engineering deliverables, including specifications, datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, control narratives, and hook-up drawings.

  • Support design and development of field instrumentation, control systems, and automation packages for oil and gas facilities.

  • Review P&IDs, cause-and-effect diagrams, instrument index, and control system architecture.

  • Select, size, and specify instruments such as transmitters, valves, analyzers, and shutdown devices.

  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, civil, and commissioning teams to ensure design integration and constructability.

  • Review vendor documents, technical bids, and material requisitions for compliance with project requirements.

  • Participate in FAT, SAT, loop checks, commissioning, and start-up activities.

  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and control issues during installation, testing, and operations support.

  • Ensure compliance with project standards, industry codes, hazardous area requirements, and client specifications.

  • Support resolution of technical queries, non-conformances, and field changes.

  • Maintain accurate engineering records and update deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Provide technical support to construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering, preferably in oil and gas or EPC projects.

  • Strong knowledge of control systems, field instruments, and industrial automation.

  • Experience with DCS, PLC, ESD, F&G, and other control/safety systems.

  • Familiarity with international standards and codes relevant to instrumentation and control.

  • Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and documentation skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software/tools relevant to the role.
