Institutional Relationship Manager

About the Role
An opportunity to play an integral role within a recently established institutional client management team. The successful candidate will manage and develop a portfolio of institutional clients across APAC, acting as a key point of contact to build trusted relationships, understand client requirements, coordinate internal support and identify opportunities to deepen engagement and grow revenue.
The role will involve working with a range of institutional clients including brokers, banks, hedge funds and other financial institutions, with a particular focus on Chinese-speaking clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of institutional clients across designated APAC markets.
- Act as the primary relationship contact for assigned clients, maintaining regular and proactive engagement with key stakeholders.
- Understand the firm's value proposition and competitive landscape to effectively position relevant solutions.
- Identify client requirements and provide appropriate trading solutions, including API, White Label and Introducing Broker arrangements.
- Identify opportunities to deepen relationships and grow account value across margin FX, CFDs and other derivative asset classes.
- Monitor client activity, revenue performance and engagement levels to identify growth opportunities, service risks and potential client attrition.
- Identify and assess sales and marketing initiatives to support individual and business targets.
- Conduct regular client and account reviews, agree follow-up actions and drive improvements in client satisfaction, retention and commercial outcomes.
- Coordinate client onboarding and ongoing service delivery, ensuring internal stakeholders are aligned and client commitments are met.
- Work closely with Sales Trading and other internal teams to resolve client queries, operational issues and escalations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of financial markets, market participants and relevant technologies.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant local regulatory requirements.
- Collate and review target client corporate documentation for Legal and Compliance assessment.
- Gather and analyse client feedback in partnership with Sales Trading and other internal stakeholders.
- Contribute ideas to improve departmental processes and procedures.
- Provide regular management information covering client activity, business opportunities and account development.
- Maintain ongoing professional development and participate in relevant training.
Key Skills & Experience
- Mandarin proficiency is required, given regular engagement with Chinese-speaking institutional clients.
- Proven experience in Business Development, Institutional Sales or Relationship Management.
- Strong financial markets experience, ideally with knowledge of FX and CFDs; knowledge of equities and equity dealing would be advantageous.
- Comfortable working against commercial targets and KPIs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
