Job Summary
An opportunity to support sales operations of a specialised global distributor and stockist of electrical interconnection components for the aerospace and defence industry by managing customer quotations, orders, and relationships while contributing to revenue growth and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full sales cycle from quotation preparation to receipt of sales orders.
- Prepare clear, competitive, and compliant quotations aligned with customer requirements.
- Source suitable products and input supplier contractual pricing into the ERP system.
- Proactively propose alternative solutions and identify upselling opportunities.
- Maintain regular communication with customers to maximise sales opportunities.
- Inform customers promptly of delivery delays impacting their supply chain.
- Escalate recurring customer issues to the Sales Manager or Business Development Manager.
- Share customer forecasts and restocking proposals with purchasing and product teams.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date customer contact records.
- Follow up on quotations regularly to support conversion.
- Ensure sales orders comply with internal quality and process standards.
- Handle customer disputes and prepare cost estimates where required.
- Support the Finance team in following up on aged receivables.
- Enter customer orders and issue acknowledgements when required.
- Participate in business meetings, customer visits, and trade shows as requested.
- Provide basic technical support and prioritise phone communication with customers.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Sales, Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in inside sales, sales support, or customer service roles.
- Knowledge of sales and negotiation techniques.
- Ability to develop business proposals aligned with commercial strategy.
- Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Capability to anticipate and manage customer conflict situations professionally.
- Ability to read and analyse technical documentation.
- Proficiency in computer and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in English for liaising with English‑speaking clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the aeronautical or technical product environment is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and strong interpersonal skills.
