Role: Infrastructure Project Manager
Role Overview
The Infrastructure Program Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the delivery of enterprise infrastructure migration initiatives from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.
The role focuses on driving execution across multiple project teams by ensuring alignment of schedules, dependencies, stakeholders, and migration activities. The Program Manager ensures migration projects are delivered smoothly, risks are proactively managed, and teams remain aligned toward common delivery outcomes.
This role acts as the central driver of programme execution - bridging technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Delivery Management
- Manage end-to-end delivery coordination for on-prem to Azure migration programmes.
- Develop and maintain integrated programme schedules covering multiple projects and workstreams.
- Track migration progress against timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure alignment between infrastructure, application, network, security, and operations teams.
- Monitor execution readiness across all migration waves.
2. Cross-Team Coordination
- Coordinate activities across multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
- Facilitate planning sessions, migration readiness reviews, and execution checkpoints.
- Manage inter-team dependencies and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Ensure clear ownership and accountability for deliverables.
3. Migration Planning & Execution Support
- Coordinate migration wave planning, cutover scheduling, and resource alignment.
- Track readiness activities such as:Infrastructure provisioningConnectivity setupTesting & validationOperational handover
- Ensure migration activities follow agreed governance and standards.
4. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
- Prepare regular programme status reports and dashboards.
- Provide visibility to leadership on progress, risks, and key decisions.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions and alignment meetings.
- Communicate impacts, risks, and mitigation plans clearly.
5. Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
- Maintain programme-level risk and issue registers.
- Identify blockers early and drive resolution with relevant teams.
- Track scope changes and impact on delivery timelines.
- Escalate critical risks appropriately.
6. Vendor & Resource Coordination
- Coordinate external vendor activities and delivery timelines.
- Ensure vendor deliverables align with internal programme schedules.
- Support resource planning and workload balancing across teams.
7. Operational Transition Coordination
- Coordinate handover from project teams to operations.
- Ensure documentation, knowledge transfer, and support readiness are completed.
- Track post-migration stabilization activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in infrastructure or cloud project/programme delivery.
- Experience coordinating enterprise-scale IT or cloud migration initiatives.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure environments (on-prem + cloud).
- Experience working with multiple technical teams and vendors.
Preferred Certifications
- PMP / Agile certification (preferred).
- Azure fundamentals or cloud migration exposure.
- ITIL Foundation (advantageous).
