Infrastructure Principal Engineer

The Infrastructure Principal Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure infrastructure solutions. This role involves driving technical initiatives, collaborating with engineering teams, and ensuring on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments meet business needs.

Key Accountabilities

• Design and implement high-performance, resilient infrastructure architectures.
• Develop and execute a hybrid cloud strategy, integrating on-premises data centers with public and private cloud platforms.
• Serve as a technical advisor, guiding engineering teams on best practices for infrastructure and cloud operations.
• Conduct design reviews and promote continuous improvement in automation and infrastructure practices.
• Ensure resilience, performance, and security of IT systems, including data centers, networks, and storage.
• Implement high-availability, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity plans for critical systems.
• Lead workload migration and integration across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Optimize performance, cost-efficiency, and compliance in hybrid cloud configurations.
• Drive automation and containerization adoption within hybrid cloud frameworks.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless infrastructure integration and operations.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
• Manage vendor relationships and long-term strategic partnerships.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Industry certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
• Experience in infrastructure design, engineering, and operations, with exposure to critical systems and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Expertise in containerization, virtualization, and emerging technologies.
• Proven track record in high-availability infrastructure design, disaster recovery, and large-scale transformation projects.
• Deep expertise in on-premises infrastructure (data centers, networks, storage, servers).
• Strong hybrid cloud architecture experience (public, private, hybrid models).
• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and security best practices.
• Proficiency in automation & orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes) and scripting languages.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and influence technical teams.
