We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) migration and bare metal cluster engineering. The role focuses on migrating OCP workloads from VMware-based virtualized environments to bare metal infrastructure, while ensuring system stability, security, and performance.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Linux system administration, automation, networking, and integration with Oracle database environments.
Lead and execute migration of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters from VMware virtual machines to bare metal servers
Design and implement bare metal cluster architecture with a focus on scalability, performance, and security
Develop automation scripts and tools to support deployment, configuration management, and operational efficiency
Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux servers (RHEL preferred)
Administer enterprise-grade Linux systems, including system hardening, patching, and troubleshooting
Support high-availability environments and optimize system performance and resource utilization
Collaborate with application teams on deployments, upgrades, and system migrations
Configure and manage network components for bare metal clusters, including switches, VLANs, routing, and DNS
Ensure secure and reliable network connectivity between OpenShift clusters and enterprise systems
Support Oracle database deployments and integrations within Linux and OpenShift environments
Work closely with database administrators to ensure performance, stability, and reliability
Create and maintain technical documentation for migration processes, architecture designs, and operational procedures
Establish best practices for cluster management, backup, and disaster recovery
Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS preferred)
Hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), including cluster setup and migration
Strong knowledge of bare metal server provisioning and cluster engineering
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, firewalls)
Familiarity with Oracle database environments on Linux
Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar automation tools
Knowledge of VMware virtualization and migration strategies
Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives
Good communication and documentation skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification
Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration beyond OpenShift
Exposure to enterprise security and compliance standards
