Infrastructure Architect, Lead Financial Institution

Our client is a Lead Financial Institution with an ambitious agenda to modernise its technology landscape. As part of this journey, they are looking for an Infrastructure Architect to shape the core platforms that power cloud, data and AI initiatives across the organisation. This is a strategic role that directly influences how the bank designs secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure to support rapidly evolving business needs and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities:
You will define and govern end-to-end infrastructure architectures across cloud-native, hybrid and on-premise environments, ensuring they are robust enough to support advanced analytics, big data, machine learning and emerging generative AI workloads. Partnering closely with application owners, project teams and enterprise architects, you will review project costs, produce design artefacts, lead architecture review sessions and guide engineering teams throughout implementation. A key part of your mandate will be to refine and maintain regional infrastructure architecture standards, continuously evaluating new technologies and promoting best practices in areas such as networking, storage, compute, security and platform engineering.

Requirements:
Degree certified, you possess strong hands-on expertise in cloud platforms, containers and microservices, virtualization, and big data/data lake solutions, backed by solid knowledge of networking, storage, compute and security. You bring at least 6 years of IT experience, including 3 years in an Infrastructure Architect role supporting big data and AI/ML initiatives, with a proven track record in producing clear architecture documentation, reviewing and challenging designs, optimising project costs, and working closely with both application and infrastructure teams. Experience in financial services or other highly regulated sectors and fluency in written and spoken English are required, while additional language skills are a plus.
