Infrastructure Architect

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established organization undergoing significant infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation, is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and evolution of enterprise infrastructure platforms across hybrid and cloud environments.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role for a seasoned infrastructure professional with deep expertise spanning cloud architecture, networking, virtualization, storage, automation, security, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
• Lead cloud adoption, migration, modernization, and transformation initiatives.
• Establish architectural standards, governance frameworks, and technology roadmaps.
• Drive the design of containerized, cloud-native, and serverless platforms.

Network & Platform Engineering

• Architect enterprise network solutions across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Oversee connectivity, segmentation, load balancing, security controls, and integration between data centers and cloud platforms.
• Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance across infrastructure services.

Compute, Storage & Virtualization

• Lead architecture and operations for compute, virtualization, and storage platforms.
• Drive capacity planning, performance optimization, backup, recovery, and infrastructure hardening initiatives.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for critical systems.

DevOps & Automation

• Champion Infrastructure-as-Code and automation practices across the technology landscape.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and configuration management processes.
• Promote SRE principles, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.

Security & Governance

• Partner with security teams to implement infrastructure and cloud security best practices.
• Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, risk, and audit requirements.
• Drive identity, access management, encryption, monitoring, and security automation initiatives.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the technical authority for complex infrastructure initiatives.
• Mentor engineers across infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps disciplines.
• Collaborate closely with application, security, architecture, and business stakeholders.
• Present architectural recommendations and strategic roadmaps to senior leadership.

Ideal Background

The successful candidate will bring:

• 10+ years of infrastructure engineering and architecture experience.
• Proven expertise in cloud architecture, with strong experience in AWS.
• Experience designing and supporting hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong background in enterprise networking, virtualization, and storage technologies.
• Hands-on experience with container platforms and orchestration technologies.
• Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, DevOps, and modern operational practices.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and cloud security principles.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale infrastructure transformation programs.
