INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER

We are seeking a suitable and qualified candidate to fill our position of Information Technology Manager. This position will report directly to the Head of IT Department.

The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, maintenance and administration of the information systems and local area network in the branch to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operations. He/she also will work with the Bank's Head Office in Japan as a project manager to upgrade the branch's system infrastructure and software.

He/she will ensure the smooth operation of hardware systems and perform routine system operations including data backup and keeping of daily/problem logs. He/she will also oversee and/or perform installation, maintenance and monitoring of the branch's systems, hardware, software and local area network and provide support for system upgrades, file maintenance and installations where installations are carried out by vendors. He/she will support the end user computing and daily operations to resolve and prevent problems and perform trouble shooting and act as an internal resource for system problems or unusual situations encountered. He/she will also be responsible to organize hands-on demonstrations and/or train end users in the use of new software and hardware products and make, plan and maintain office automation and communication infrastructure. In addition, he/she will also be responsible for liaising with other departments / branches on behalf of users on matters relating to the branch information systems and establishing, maintaining and implementing policies, rules and procedures for managing information and information systems.

As our risk management system, accounting system and settlements system are developed by the Head Office, there will be regular reporting and liaising with the Head Office IT Department. The incumbent is required to work very closely with the Head Office IT Department on our IT system/network and email system. He/she is also required to understand and interpret the information security policies from Head Office which are written in Japanese language. The incumbent will assist the Head of IT for the submission of IT related budget in Japanese language.

Applicants should possess a degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, MIS or similar computer related field with at least 10 years experience in similar capacity in a corporate banking environment. The incumbent needs to be familiar and have a good understanding of the business culture and process of Japanese organizations. Native-level Japanese language ability, both spoken and written, will be essential for this role as there will be regular communication and liaison with Head Office. The candidate must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

Remuneration will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
