Informatica ETL Developer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This role is for a Senior Developer for Operational Data Store in the Data Integration and Reporting Team.

KEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION

Functional / Technical
. Work on the development projects related to Operational Data Store for Wealth Management.
. Understand system and functional requirements and translate them into technical implementations.
. Translate business requirements to FSD documentation.
. Adopt best practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and continuous Integration (CI)
. Ensure adherence to coding standards (incl. code, security, and performance).
. Participate in reviews and meetings and provide updates on project progress.
. Take responsibility for ensuring that any risks and issues with assigned work are identified and highlighted to the relevant stakeholders on timely basis.
. Contribute to production stability and ensure timely communication to the stake holders.
. Review technical and architectural design with domain architect, debate on best possible design options and challenge status quo.

Client / Stakeholder Management (internal & external)
. Stake holder management - working closely with business change engineers, project managers and various source and target application teams to deliver IT changes.
. Ensure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle. Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management
. Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
. Take responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed closely and drive all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
Professional and Technical

Professional
. Minimum 5 years of development experience in Data warehouse technologies, data modelling and ETL development.
. Minimum 2 years of experience with programming languages like Python.
. Experience working on both real-time and batch processing data pipelines.
. Experience working on big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, etc.
. Passionate about technologies and building robust and scalable Systems.
. Must have experience automating pipelines using Jenkins, Gitlab and hosting on Docker, Kubernetes.
. Experience of BI/reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau etc. would be an advantage growing in the role.
. Knowledge of Temenos T24 is an advantage.
. Proven experience in leading the delivery of system/software development projects in a structured environment.
. Experience in a variety of software development approaches and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
. Experience in both architecture and implementation-level software design
. Excellent personal organisation and ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks.
. Able to influence and drive projects to meet key milestones and overcome challenges.

Technical
Development:

• Experienced in Informatica, database (My SQL or Oracle or Sybase) and Shell script. . Experienced in Python.
• Experience on building data pipelines.
• Exposure to Cloud technologies is preferred.
• Good knowledge and experience in using big data components.
• Experience on BI tools - Tableau etc. is preferred.

Database:

• Experience in designing normalised/de-normalised database schema models.
• Experience in data modelling and designing common models.
• Experience in performance optimization
