Job Description

1. Infant Care & Well-Being

  • Provide responsive and attentive care to infants, ensuring their basic needs (feeding, diapering, napping) are met in a calm and nurturing environment.
  • Maintain a consistent routine that aligns with the centre's Montessori principles, supporting the infant's sense of security and independence.
  • Observe and respond to infants cues and signals to provide individualized care and comfort.
  • Ensure hygiene and safety by regularly sanitizing play and feeding areas, maintaining proper handwashing, and following health regulations.

2. Montessori Learning & Development

  • Create an age-appropriate, prepared environment with Montessori materials that encourage sensory exploration, movement, and early cognitive development.
  • Implement Montessori-based activities such as sensorial play, practical life skills, and early language development to support infants natural growth.
  • Foster independence and self-regulation by allowing infants to engage in self-directed exploration within a safe environment.
  • Encourage gross and fine motor development through activities such as tummy time, grasping objects, and early movement exercises.

3. Observation & Documentation

  • Regularly observe and record infants developmental milestones and behaviors to track progress and tailor activities to individual needs.
  • Communicate observations with parents and caregivers through daily reports, photos, or digital platforms to keep them informed of their child's progress.
  • Adjust the learning environment based on infants interests and developmental stages, following Montessori principles of self-paced growth.

4. Parent Engagement & Communication

  • Build a positive relationship with parents by offering insights into their child's development and Montessori philosophy.
  • Provide guidance on Montessori practices that parents can incorporate at home to support their child's growth.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences or informal discussions to address any concerns, answer questions, and ensure continuity of care between home and school.
