Responsibilities
Team Introduction: As a member of ByteDance's tax function, you will be part of an international team that spans the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania. You will have the opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders within our organisation, such as the Accounting, Finance and Legal teams. Responsibilities: As an Indirect Tax Manager/Senior Tax Analyst, you will be a valued member of the Country Tax Team based in Singapore, mainly looking after ByteDance's tax obligations in the Region (with a focus on Singapore and Malaysia). Your main responsibilities include: - Indirect tax compliance: Preparation of indirect tax filings, tax audits and litigation with support from external tax consultants where relevant. - Business partnering: Act as a partner to the business, providing specialist tax input from technical and operational perspectives in relation to proposed business launches/transactions/models. - Process efficiency and automation: Review current processes and drive the optimisation of end-to-end tax processes and controls, improving efficiency with coordination with other stakeholders and supporting tax technology implementations. - Legislative tracking and solutioning: Monitor tax legislation changes and assess the implications to the Group and ultimately implement solutions to manage those changes if applicable. - Support tax incentive applications and related ongoing compliance obligations where relevant. - Support HQ tax reporting requirements. - Provide tax support on various projects as well as leading ad-hoc tax matters/projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - 5+ years of indirect tax compliance and advisory experience in large Multinational Corporations and/or accounting firms. - Meticulous with a strong attention to detail, and be committed to delivering high quality work. - Strong problem-solving skills and a mindset that always looks to improve and find the best solutions even in the midst of the challenges of a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. - Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. - Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and in person as part of the role will include working with global partners in different time zones and cultures. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with indirect tax in relation to digital economy and e-commerce businesses is highly desirable. - Experience in a regional tax role a plus. - Experience with compliance and assurance programs (e.g. GST ACAP) a plus.
