Our client, a leading organisation in the education sector, is seeking an experiencedIndependent Health and Safety Auditor or Reviewerwho will be responsible for assessing and reviewing health & safety practices at various school sites within the organisation. This role requires conducting independent site visits to evaluate compliance with health & safety policies, offering feedback, and producing detailed, evidence-based reports. The reviewer will ensure that schools are adhering to established safety frameworks while considering the local context, and you will be responsible for reporting directly to key stakeholders, including the Head of School and the Regional Team. This position also involves fostering strong professional relationships with school leadership to support continuous improvement in health & safety practices.
This role is designed for anIOSH Chartered memberwith a deep understanding of health & safety practices and a consultative approach to evaluating and improving systems. As a Freelance position, this provides flexibility while maintaining a high level of responsibility for ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff at the schools.
Missions
- Undertake independent reviews and audits of health & safety practices at various school sites, adhering to an agreed schedule.
- Assess the schools practices against the agreed health & safety policies and frameworks, taking local contexts into account.
- Deliver clear, professional verbal feedback to school leadership following each site review.
- Produce high-quality, evidence-based reports that detail findings, including areas of strength and any risks or concerns.
- Identify and document effective health & safety practices that can be shared across the organisation.
- Escalate risks and/or concerns, providing a written account of all relevant information and evidence.
- Circulate reports directly to key stakeholders, including the Head of School and the Regional Team, on time.

Qualifications
- Chartered Member of IOSH (or equivalent): Relevant certification is required to ensure competence in health & safety practices.
- Educational Sector Experience: Prior experience in the education sector is preferred and a solid understanding of compliance and safety protocols within facilities are necessary.
- Global Health & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with international health & safety regulations and cultural considerations for compliance in global settings.|
- Experience in Health and Safetyaudits and report preparation are required.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, to provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Cultural Sensitivity:Ability to understand and address cultural differences when evaluating health & safety practices globally.
- Fluency in Englishis required.
