Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full spectrum of in-situ daily operations in close coordination with the General Manager and other department heads, ensuring smooth execution and alignment across teams.
  • Drive the achievement of budgeted sales and profit targets while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Take responsibility for staff welfare, including guidance, discipline, and performance management, in compliance with company policies, applicable laws, and relevant regulations.
  • Ensure the health and safety of department employees, subcontractors, and any personnel assigned to departmental projects or cross-departmental tasks.
  • Maintain strict adherence to ISO management systems and champion continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Lead and manage repair teams in both onboard and onshore operations, including planning work scope, allocating manpower, assessing tooling requirements, and overseeing the scheduling and execution of repair and service activities.
  • Monitor progress closely to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • At times, personally conduct ship and offshore vessel inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and conversions, while providing sound technical advice to clients.
  • Identify market opportunities and industry needs, and proactively establish connections to support business development efforts.
  • Always prioritise safety and health for yourself and your colleagues, strictly adhering to the company's environmental, health, and safety policies.
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned by management when required.

Requirement:

  • Candidate with minimum Diploma in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or MEO Class II Cert. of Competency
  • 5 years working experience in Marine/Offshore environment
  • 3 years working experience in in-situ crankshaft grinding/machining, line-boring and general machining knowledge
  • Continuous improvement mindset.

  • Excellent managerial and mentorship skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good team player with good attitude, integrity, interpersonal, organization and time management skills
