Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily import and export operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of shipments.
- Prepare, review, and process import/export documentation, including TradeNet permits, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin (COO), bills of lading, health certificates, and other shipping documents.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore Customs, Singapore Food Agency (SFA), and other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with overseas customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, transport providers and customs brokers to ensure smooth shipment execution.
- Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve customs clearance, shipping, delivery or documentation issues.
- Liaise with Production, Warehouse, Procurement and Sales teams to coordinate order fulfilment, shipment planning and inventory movement.
- Coordinate container loading, cargo collection and delivery arrangements to ensure compliance with customer and shipping requirements.
- Verify shipping costs, freight invoices, permits and supporting documents for accuracy and cost control.
- Maintain accurate import and export records and ensure proper documentation for audit and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor changes in trade regulations, customs procedures, food import/export requirements, free trade agreements (FTAs), and ensure compliance where applicable.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, cost optimisation and customer service.
- Prepare periodic shipment, inventory and logistics reports as required by Management.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Working Days & Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 8am - 6pm. Friday: 8am - 5pm
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in import and export operations, preferably within the food manufacturing, food processing, FMCG, or trading industry.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Customs regulations, TradeNet and SFA requirements.
- Experience handling controlled food items and import/export permits, shipping documentation and international freight coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP or trade management systems.
- Strong planning, coordination, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work across teams.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers and business counterparts where required.
