Key Responsibilities:
1. Documentation & Compliance
- Verify and process incoming pre-alerts and shipping manifests using in-house systems.
- Prepare, submit, and manage Customs permits (e.g., TradeNet declarations, GST payments, refunds/cancellations).
- Liaise with Singapore Customs and relevant agencies (e.g., NEA, AVA) for regulatory compliance.
- Print and maintain records of clearance documents for audits.
2. Operational Coordination
- Notify internal teams (Warehouse, Customer Service) and consignees on shipment status (hold/release, GST payment).
- Resolve shipment holds by coordinating with overseas counterparts and customer service teams.
- Respond promptly to import/export enquiries from stakeholders.
3. Process Improvement & Reporting
- Generate monthly reports on clearance timelines, GST payments, and permit status.
- Collaborate with overseas teams to optimize workflows and reduce delays.
- Track and escalate outstanding tasks (e.g., pending permits, unpaid GST) to ensure resolution.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Verify payment records with the Finance team.
- Support ad-hoc projects to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements:
. Certification: Valid Customs Competency Test for Declarants (SC 401) certification as required by Singapore Customs.
. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in import permit declarations, customs clearance, and trade compliance in Singapore.
