Job Summary:
The Import-Export Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring timely and compliance movement of marine-related cargo across international borders. This role involves issuing and coordinating documentation, customs clearance, and shipment tracking for marine spare parts, equipment, while coordinating internal departments to meet operational requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Arrange and track inbound/outbound shipments for airfreight and sea freight.
- Prepare shipping paperwork for both domestic and international shipments.
- Ensure items being shipped out of the warehouse comply with Hazmat and shipping regulations.
- Liaise with shipping agents, freight forwarders, and customs brokers for timely clearance and release of goods.
- Ensure accuracy in HS codes, Incoterms, and declarations in compliance.
- Provide regular updates to internal teams and customers on shipment status and ETA.
- Maintain shipment logs and update internal systems with tracking and delivery information.
- Be able to identify process inefficiencies and drive improvements
- Highlight and communicate issues to Manager.
Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:
- Freight forwarding experience a plus
- Familiar with liner shipping schedules and transshipment documentation.
- Fluency in speaking and writing English
- Able to multitask and work under pressure, especially during vessel turnaround periods.
- Familiar with customs procedures, HS code classification, and incoterms.
- Attentive to detail and accruacy in documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and shipment tracking tools.
