Job Summary
Teach English Core or English General Paper for Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE programmes, delivering engaging lessons that develop students academic skills and prepare them for examinations and competitions.
Responsibilities
- Design and compose lesson plans aligned with the Cambridge Curriculum for secondary education to cover full lesson durations effectively
- Deliver English lessons for Year 6 to 10 using varied teaching styles to enhance student comprehension and engagement
- Facilitate an active, lively classroom atmosphere through activity-based learning to promote student participation
- Assess and record student attendance daily using the school management system
- Monitor pupil progress by providing constructive feedback and maintaining detailed records of development
- Prepare students for external Cambridge examinations and academic competitions to ensure readiness and confidence
- Manage classroom and school premises behavior by applying appropriate disciplinary measures to maintain a positive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and training events
- Independently deliver higher-level subject syllabus content with accuracy and appropriateness
- Apply effective teaching techniques and pedagogies consistent with Cambridge CLSP and IGCSE English core module frameworks
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelors degree in Arts English teaching minimum
- Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in CLSP / IGCSE roles at international schools in Singapore
- Cambridge Certified or holding CICTL / CIDT certification
- Proficient computer skills to support teaching and administrative tasks
- Strong command of English language to teach core academic subjects effectively
- Demonstrated passion for education and student development
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience handling Cambridge curriculum English standard examinations is highly preferred
Other Information
- Working hours: 9:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday, except Wednesday until 5:30pm
- Monthly remuneration is negotiable and will be measurable based on your current pay and experience.
