RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with writers, producers, and the Ideation & Scripting Lead to evaluate drama proposals, scripts, and story concepts across the Chinese drama development slate, assessing creative quality, narrative effectiveness to support a sustainable and differentiated content pipeline.
- Shape and strengthen storylines, character arcs, and narrative structures to enhance dramatic impact, emotional engagement, and audience appeal across multiple projects.
- Identify and address creative gaps or development risks at both project and slate levels, recommending solutions to improve overall storytelling quality and consistency.
- Ensure scripts and concepts are creatively robust, distinctive, and appropriate for intended formats, platforms, and target audiences.
- Contribute to the creative development and evaluation of international co-development and co-production projects, working with internal teams and overseas partners to align storytelling approaches, formats, and creative expectations across markets.
- Support pitching and brainstorming activities by structuring, facilitating, and consolidating creative inputs across internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate concept sharing and development discussions with Internal Content and Customer Group colleagues to ensure alignment on creative direction, format, and audience objectives.
- Contribute to the definition of pitch formats, presentation approaches, and development requirements for drama concepts at a slate level.
- Identify, evaluate, and engage relevant industry experts and creative partners to support script and concept development outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS- Degree in Mass Communication, Broadcast, Film, Television, or a related discipline.
- 7-8 years of relevant experience in drama development, scripted content creation, or creative production
- Deep understanding of genre trends, audience insights, and market dynamics to inform creative direction and development strategies across the Chinese drama development slate
- Strong interest in consuming a wide range of drama and content genres
- Experience in Chinese-language drama productions exposure to international co-productions is an advantage.
- Bilingual in Chinese and English (spoken and written)
