ICT Security Engineer

The ICT Security Engineer plans, designs, installs, tests and implements systems and cybersecurity solutions in accordance to specifications and service level. They perform the necessary system programming and configuration and provides systems related technical advice to customers or project team. They will work closely with project teams to analyse customer's information systems.

The role involves cross-team collaboration to deliver automation, and end-to-end solutions, as well as configuring servers, storages, cloud and endpoint security solutions.

The engineer must be analytical, organized, and adept at troubleshooting, with a passion for innovation and adaptability in dynamic environments. Strong communication skills and a commitment to high service standards are essential, along with participation in rotational standby duties for operational support.

Typical Tasks:

- Design, configure, implement, and maintain systems, infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions for clients.

- Review technical documents for processes, technology and devices.

- Assist with piloting of new tools, technologies, and/or processes.

- Gather business or application requirements on the infrastructure.

- Assist in project deployments, including on-site installation and testing.

- Document configurations, diagrams, and procedures.

- Provide technical support to clients remotely and on-site.

- Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and sales on solution delivery.

- Perform the infrastructure requirement analysis, design and upgrades.

- Perform technical evaluation and proof-of-concept of new technologies for clients.

- Rotational standby duties.

- Project handover and knowledge transfer with clients.

Key Tasks:

- Develop documentation on administration, installation, configuration and troubleshooting.

- Assist in the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions across on-premise and cloud infrastructure that adhere to current architecture standards.

- Conduct technical analysis of complex software, hardware and infrastructure equipment.

- Lead the testing of implemented infrastructure solutions to ensure requirements are met.

- Oversee adherence to security requirements for infrastructure operations.

- Ensure compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and client requirements.

- Respond to critical infrastructure outages and perform root cause analysis.

- Prepare and execute test plans including integration, performance, coverage and capacity verification.

- Analyse audit trails to detect systematic security violations related to infrastructure.

- Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing.

- Prepare and execute test plans including integration, performance, coverage and capacity verification.

- Ensure disaster recovery plan testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met.

- Resolve escalated or major issues relating to infrastructure operations.

- Plan and coordinate security measures for infrastructure, software and data.

- Guide and/or train teams to resolve infrastructure-related incidents

- Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Servers, VMware, Nutanix, Linux, and Cybersecurity Solutions such as XDR/MDR, Privilege Access Management and/or Backup and Disaster Recovery.

- Ability to read and create network diagrams (Visio or similar tools).

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Ability to collaborate and work as a team.

Job Requirements:

- Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Information Technology or a related field.

- Experience with Networking, Server and Cloud Infrastructure Deployments, Virtualization and Cybersecurity.

- Good problem solving and analytical skills.

- Minimum 1-2 years of related working experience.

- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix, Sophos, Fortinet etc) are highly preferred.

- Experience in systems integration projects is an advantage.

- Willingness to travel to client sites when required.

- Strong team player with a proactive and self-motivated attitude.

- Able to work flexible hours, including after-hours support for critical issues.
