Role Overview
Responsible for delivering efficient, high‑quality accounting support to internal and external customers. This role ensures day-to-day compliance with the systems and controls established by the organization and to always ensure compliance with MAS rules on client monies account.
Key Role Accountabilities
1.Functional & Technical Expertise
- Ensure all debts are collected as soon as possible and all liabilities are settled within agreed credit terms.
- Chase overdue IBA balances due to the Company, by phone and email and report any accounts that are causing concern, or where insurers are threatening cancellation.
- Allocation of receipts from clients ensure all cash received is matched as soon as possible.
- Setting up payments to clients, insurers and claim settlements, ensuring banking procedures have been adhered to, e.g. verifying bank details, timely banking of receipts and reconciliation of differences.
- Reconciliation and payment of underwriter accounts.
- Account query resolution including liaising with technical departments and the bank on queries raised by clients.
- Provide cover for other IBA staff if they are away.
- To produce accurate and timely management information on both a regular and ad hoc basis assist when preparing various monthly reports e.g. helping produce and populate bespoke turnover, aged debtors and utilizing spreadsheets to provide management information from the broking software system.
- Maintenance of accurate accounting records.
- Responsible for preparing year-end audit files e.g. audit confirmations and reconciliation and audit schedules.
- Undertake any other related duties as may be reasonably required.
- Meeting internal KPI's.
- Regular liaison with other departments regarding outstanding queries, particularly cash queries.
- Ensure that all outstanding cash under query with the clients/ underwriters is chased on a weekly basis.
- Prepare and send statements of accounts in accordance with account holders requirements and/or when requested by divisions.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive and up to date records, accessible to all parties that require them.
- Monitor client money payments to company stakeholders.
- Notify appropriate individuals of potential bad debt exposures at earliest possible stage and enlist assistance where appropriate
- Assist the Finance Director and Finance team to undertake other duties, ad hoc tasks and projects.

- BE and PPT Teams

- Demonstrates flexibility in applying skills and experience to additional or evolving responsibilities as required.
- Deep understanding of financial drivers and risks.

- Contributes to the enhancement of financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Presents financial information, analysis, and recommendations to management in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

Compliance
- Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and compliance requirements, E&O compliance procedures and quality initiatives.
- Escalation of any potential E&O's to Compliance Officer and Executive Directors at the earliest opportunity.
- Ensure completion of all mandatory Company training and to deadline.
Your scope of duties is not restrictive and may be expanded at the company's discretion.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree‑level educated or equivalent
- Professional qualification: CA / CPA / ACCA, with relevant industry experience
- 2-3 years of experience
