The Role
Graduate/Junior - You will design safety systems, deck machinery arrangements, and internal accommodation layouts to make vessels fully functional and habitable.
- Design deck outfitting arrangements, including mooring, towing, lifting, and anchoring systems.
- Develop vital safety plans, including lifesaving, firefighting, and escape route layouts.
- Coordinate interior accommodation spaces, material insulation, and ergonomic configurations.
- Ensure all outfitting systems strictly meet international safety and statutory codes.
Senior - You will integrate miscellaneous systems, crew accommodations, and life-safety boundaries into a highly efficient organic whole, supervising deck machinery, safety layouts, and architectural interior elements.
- Lead the design of comprehensive deck outfitting layouts including anchoring, mooring, towing, and specialized lifting configurations.
- Take charge of life-safety plan generation, covering firefighting, lifesaving appliances, and structural fire protection, ensuring 100% compliance with SOLAS.
- Manage architectural accommodation planning, insulation layout designs, and human-factors engineering regarding noise and vibration mitigation.
- Supervise interface designs and structural foundations for heavy equipment such as steering gears, winches, and cargo hatch covers.
- Review hull structural and outfitting drawings produced by Junior Engineer.
What You Need
- Graduate with a Diploma, or a recent Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine, Mechanical, or Industrial Design Engineering, with 5+ years of outfitting basic or detailed engineering experience for a senior role.
- Exceptional 3D spatial awareness and proficiency in modern CAD modelling software.
- Strong attention to detail regarding ergonomics, safety, and operational workflows.
- Thorough knowledge of SOLAS regulations, international canal rules (Panama/Suez), and Class outfitting standards.
- Outstanding multi-party alignment skills, with fluent English to direct cross-continental technical review meetings.
