The Opportunity
The HSEQ Business Partner is responsible for providing strategic health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) support across APAC region. The role focuses on partnering with leaders, teams, and external stakeholders to influence safe practices across diverse projects and risk environments while contributing to the ongoing redesign of Arup's management system. Operating within a lean team, the position plays a key role in delivering practical HSEQ guidance both in the office and on varied site locations.
- Collaborate with leaders across projects to guide HSEQ performance in ways that enhance project delivery and create lasting impact.
- Act as a trusted advisor, partnering with leaders to embed HSEQ best practices into project delivery.
- Provide strategic HSEQ advice and support Singapore, partnering with State Leaders, Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Influence senior leaders and project teams through strong relationship building and leadership without direct authority.
- Engage with subconsultants, contracting partners, clients, and internal teams to support HSEQ needs across diverse service offerings and risk profiles.
- Offer coaching and support to individuals new to safety or unfamiliar with Arup's HSEQ processes.
- Deliver HSEQ training to Arup members
- Oversee HSEQ compliance activities including audits, reporting, and training across office and site based environments.
- Promote a culture of care, championing health, safety, wellbeing, and the integration of safe design principles.
- Support environmental and sustainability goals through impact assessments and integration of environmental considerations into work systems.
- Interpret HSEQ data and insights to inform decision making, influence strategy, and drive continuous improvement.
- Use HSEQ software systems to report and track incidents, assign and close corrective actions, and assign and monitor audits.
- Contribute to the redesign and improvement of Arup's HSEQ management system, helping shape future processes and ways of working.
- Conduct site visits across a wide range of environments including construction sites, greenfield/outdoor locations, bush reserves (e.g., drilling operations), and tunnels or underground works.
- Work within Arup's hybrid arrangement (3 days office / 2 days WFH) with flexibility depending on business needs.

Is this role right for you
- 6 or more years HSEQ experience
- Degree or similar equivalent high-level qualification in an HSEQ related subject
- Previous experience in a HSEQ role multisite role.
- Prior experience using health and safety software systems, including incident reporting, incident tracking, corrective action management, and audit assignment
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to learn new HSEQ systems (Arup's specific system can be trained).
- Physical capability for varied types of site work.
