The Instructional Designer is a technical specialist based in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Mumbai (India) or Manila (Philippines) enabling him/her to build close work relationships with the Learning and Development team.
In addition to their L&D colleagues, the Instructional Designer is expected to work collaboratively with the Subject Matter Experts. In particular, the Instructional Designer is expected to contribute to enhance Crown employees learning experience.
The Instructional Designer must demonstrate a strong business acumen. This position will combine a strong technical writing foundation with significant organizational development experience to deliver a consistent high quality standard of learning content across all channels.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Administration
- Learn and keep updated on company systems and processes including but not limited to Business related applications and databases, e.g. job costing and invoicing, Business Objects, Dynamics
- Review and update training material to insure accuracy.
- Scope, design and develop digital content that is both engaging and informative in a variety of formats and accessible from a range of devices e.g. short videos, e-learning modules, interactive presentations, digital based assessment activities
- Develop systems, soft skills and business skills learning content as required.
- Collaborate with trainers in the design and creation of e-learning courses and training material to insure quality standards are met.
- Communicate timely updates and raise any issues that might delay project timelines
- Translate needs into actionable content and instructional design items
Customer Services
- Produce a wide range of effective and engaging training material.
- Create exercises and activities that enhance the learning process and measure the effectiveness of the course.
- Closely collaborate with L&D team and Subject Matter Experts (SME).
Continuous Improvement
- Analyse trends and apply best practices in curriculum design as well as blended adult learning approach.
- Use current technology to develop e-learning courses and mobile learning content.
- Keep abreast of new developments in pedagogy and instructional technology concerning subject areas and research on adult learning.
Corporate Social Responsibility
- Support the company CSR and D&I commitments and goals.

- Complete other duties as request by the Line Manager.

Professional Knowledge and Skills
- Solid knowledge of current best practices in instructional design, assessment and instructional technology.
- Experience producing training materials using a variety of visual and interactive design strategies.
- Proficient in video editing, and content authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adbobe Captivate).
- Strong Project Management skills.
- Microsoft office savvy.
- Understanding of core principles of learning design and learning styles.
- A working knowledge of storyboarding for a variety of digital content.
Qualifications
- Degree holder in Instructional Design.
- 3+ years relevant working experience in designing and producing blended and online instructional materials and technologies for a variety of learning tasks, learning needs, and learning environments.
