Job Description

Nintendo Studios SingaporePte. Ltd. is a Singapore-based game development company with particular expertise in the creation of in-game art assets. Having joined the Nintendo Group as a subsidiary of Nintendo Co., Ltd., the company continues to support the development of Nintendo titles and contributes to strengthening Nintendo's global development capabilities through its specialized development expertise.

We are seeking a General Manager, HR, GA & Finance to lead the company's corporate functions and support its continued growth as part of the Nintendo Group. Reporting directly to the President and working closely with headquarters stakeholders in Japan, the successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting to headquarters, accounting governance, budgeting, audits and tax matters, human resources and expatriate support, office administration, and regulatory compliance. The role plays a key part in ensuring that the Singapore operation maintains strong governance, effective internal controls, and a scalable corporate platform aligned with the standards and expectations of the Nintendo Group.

1. Financial Reporting and HQ Coordination

Lead financial reporting to the HQ Accounting department in support of the timely disclosure obligations of the Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed Japanese parent company, overseeing the submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data of Nintendo Studios Singapore prepared in line with group accounting policies.

2. Accounting Team Supervision and Internal Controls

Supervise the accounting team to ensure compliance with group-level internal controls, the accuracy of financial reporting, and adherence to deadlines, drawing on practical and comprehensive knowledge of J-SOX and the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA).

3. Audit and Tax Management

Manage audits and tax matters across Nintendo Studios Singapore to ensure timely responses to inquiries from the HQ Accounting department and other stakeholders.

4. Accounting Operations and Systems

Oversee the accounting operations of Nintendo Studios Singapore (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and others) using Xero.

5. Gaming Industry Accounting

Apply a deep understanding of the interactive entertainment industry's development, sales, and after-care business model to reflect complex transaction structures accurately in accounting treatment.

6. Budgeting and General Accounting Management

Manage all other accounting related matters, including the annual budgeting of Nintendo Studios Singapore.

7. GAAP Reconciliation and J-SOX Internal Controls

Implement, enhance, and review a GAAP reconciliation program aligned with J-GAAP and an internal control program aligned with J-SOX.

8. HR and Expatriate Administration

Oversee back-office functions (HR, general affairs), as well as the arrangements required to host expatriates.



Job Requirements

1. At least 5 years of experience with a globally listed company in the gaming industry. The successful candidate must possess the above experience within the last 3 years.


2. At least 5 years of accounting experience within a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed group, including hands-on responsibility for consolidated / group financial reporting and coordination with a listed parent company's finance function.


3. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the design and operation of internal controls based on J-SOX is required.

4. Detailed and practical knowledge of Annual Securities Reports and related financial statements in compliance with JGAAP and regulations and the listing rules of the Tokyo Stock Exchange is required.

5. Professional knowledge and at least 5 years of experience in the gaming industry accounting, particularly accounting treatment and revenue recognition based on the development, sales, and after-care business model.

6. Ample hands-on experience with Xero. Experience with SAP and DIVA accounting systems is an added advantage.

7. Experience handling HR related matters, including employee accommodation and welfare.

8. Practical knowledge of Japanese laws, regulations, and guidelines relevant to the gaming industry.



9. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in business-level English and Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent) is required for close coordination with the listed parent company in Japan, group companies, key customers, and other stakeholders.
