A fastgrowing organisation is investing in the Data Centre business , and they are seeking a dynamic and handson HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support this strategic expansion. This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground level of a new business unit and shape its people strategy, processes, and culture from Day 1.

Job Description

As the HRBP, you will operate as a true HR Generalist, delivering endtoend HR support across the Data Centre business. You will build strong partnerships with business leaders to understand workforce needs, drive organisational effectiveness, and build HR foundations that enable scale and agility.This role requires someone who is comfortable working with less structure, thrives in a fastmoving environment, and is motivated by creating policies, frameworks, and processes from scratch. The environment suits someone resourceful, independent, and confident navigating ambiguity.As the business expands, this role has the potential to grow into a people manager position overseeing a team of 1-2 HR professionals.

  • Serve as the primary HR partner to the Data Centre leadership team, providing both strategic insight and handson HR execution.
  • Design and implement HR policies, workflows, and governance tailored to a new and rapidly scaling business.
  • Manage full-spectrum HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation cycles, and employee engagement.
  • Provide HR advisory to leaders and employees, supporting organisational design, capability building, and culture shaping.
  • Drive HR initiatives that support talent attraction, retention, and development.
  • Lead or support cross-functional HR projects as part of the wider People & Culture team.
  • Build foundational people processes that balance agility, compliance, and business needs.
  • Potentially lead and mentor a small HR team (1-2 direct reports) as the function grows.

The Successful Applicant


  • 5-8 years of HR Generalist or HRBP experience, ideally in highgrowth, technical, or projectbased industries (e.g., engineering, infrastructure, technology, data centres).
  • Proven track record in building HR structures, processes, and policies from scratch.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior leaders.
  • Comfortable operating independently with minimal structure; adaptable and solutions-oriented.
  • Strong understanding of core HR disciplines including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Interest in developing into a people manager as the business scales.
