Job Description

About ANEXT Bank

We're on a mission to make financial services accessible and effortless for businesses. As one of Singapore's latest digital wholesale banks fully regulated by MAS, we're committed to continuous innovation to bring about simpler, safer and more rewarding financial services. #bringingaboutwhatsnext

Role Overview

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic and hands-on partner to ANEXT Bank's business leaders, owning the talent agenda for their assigned business lines. This role goes beyond administering HR processes — the HRBP is expected to understand the business deeply enough to advise on workforce decisions, anticipate talent needs ahead of demand, and be judged on the business outcomes enabled, not the HR transactions completed.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Workforce Planning

  • Partner closely with assigned business unit leaders (e.g. Credit, Risk & Compliance, Product & Technology, Operations) to align people strategy with business priorities
  • Provide data-informed workforce planning input — headcount, structure, and capability gaps — ahead of business need
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers on org design, team structure and change readiness

Employee Relations

  • Manage employee relations matters with sound judgement, discretion, and awareness of the regulatory environment banks operate within
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on performance issues, conduct matters, and difficult conversations
  • Escalate and manage complex or sensitive cases in partnership with Legal and Compliance where required

Talent Acquisition Partnership

  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on hiring plans for assigned business lines, ensuring role scoping reflects real business need
  • Support hiring managers through the selection and offer process for critical and senior roles

Performance & Talent Management

  • Drive the performance management cycle — goal-setting, mid-year and annual reviews, calibration — for assigned business groups
  • Support development planning and succession conversations for key talent and critical roles

HR Policy, Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure HR practices comply with Singapore employment law, MOM requirements, and MAS expectations relevant to a regulated financial institution
  • Support the development and rollout of HR policies suited to a fast-scaling digital bank
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee and business information with discretion

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Champion ANEXT Bank's values and culture within assigned business groups
  • Support engagement initiatives that reflect the realities of a multinational, remote-friendly workforce

HR Projects

  • Contribute to HR and people-strategy projects, including workforce planning, organisational design, and culture initiatives, as assigned

What Success Looks Like

  • Business leaders treat the HRBP as a genuine partner in growth decisions, not a processor of requests
  • Workforce plans anticipate business need rather than react to it
  • Employee relations matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in a way that protects both the employee and the bank
  • HR policies and practices stand up to MAS and MOM scrutiny without friction

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 8–10 years of HR experience, ideally including exposure to banking, financial services, or a fast-scaling fintech environment
  • Working knowledge of Singapore employment law; familiarity with MAS regulatory expectations for financial institutions is an advantage
  • Strong business acumen — comfortable holding strategic conversations with senior stakeholders
  • Sound judgement in employee relations, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
