Job Description

Position summary statement:

The Houseman to keep areas under Housekeeping in clean and orderly condition. He performs heavy cleaning duties, such as mopping and scrubbing floors, shampooing carpets and rugs, changing curtains, cleaning air-condition ventilation grilles and ceiling, washing walls and cleaning windows, pushing linen and towels to the floors. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities and notifying Housekeeping Department of need for repairs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness of the areas under Housekeeping.
  • Carry out assigned tasks by Guest Room Team Leader and ensure that job is carried out as instructed.
  • Inform Guest Room Team Leader of any related job deficiencies and ensure that problems are rectified before the end of the shift.
  • Prioritize needs of job to be done during the shift.
  • Familiarize self with apartment facilities, activities, equipment and appliances for the purpose of assisting guest inquiries and requests for assistance.
  • Follow Housekeeping procedures and emergency procedures on health and safety for employee and guests.
  • Help to put in rollaway beds and baby cots to the apartm ents.
  • Report any damages to Guest Room Team Leader discovered in working areas.
  • Maintain Housekeeping machine and equipment.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Help to put up and remove festive decorations.
  • Perform cleaning duties in case of emergency or staff shortage.
