Varel Singapore, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel is set to open in Q1 2026, and we're looking for a driven and detail-oriented Housekeeping Team Leader / Supervisor to join our pre-opening team.
About the Role
As a Housekeeping Team Leader / Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience through immaculate spaces and thoughtful touches. You will lead a dedicated team to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and brand expression - ensuring every room reflects the warmth and individuality of our Tribute Portfolio identity.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Operations
- Plan daily resources and assign tasks to ensure smooth shift operations
- Supervise cleaning activities and room readiness in line with Marriott brand standards
- Conduct inspections of guest rooms, service pantries, and housekeeping trolleys
- Monitor room turnover and coordinate with Front Office for timely releases
- Report maintenance issues and follow through on defect rectification
- Prepare rooms for VIP arrivals, ensuring personalized setups and amenities
- Maintain inventory of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies
- Support sustainability efforts through responsible product usage and waste reduction
Team Leadership
- Guide and motivate a team of Room Attendants and Public Area Cleaners
- Conduct on-the-job training and onboarding for new hires
- Provide coaching and feedback to enhance performance and service delivery
- Uphold hygiene, safety, and regulatory compliance across all housekeeping activities
- Foster a culture of pride, accountability, and attention to detail
Talent Profile
- Minimum 3 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel setting (4-5 star preferred)
- Pre-opening experience (a plus!)
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and chemical handling
- Confident communicator with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment
- Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Able to start work within short notice.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
