Job Description

We are looking for an experienced HOD, Global HR for an established shipping client. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced HR professional who can operate at both strategic and operational levels, partnering closely with executive leadership to shape organisational direction and drive business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings proven regional or global HR leadership experience, with strong capability in workforce planning, organisational development, and talent strategy.

Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Lead and elevate the Global HR function as a strategic partner to the business
  • Build and lead a high-performing HR team with strong capability across both strategy and execution
  • Promote a strong, aligned organisational culture that supports business objectives

Strategy

  • Define and execute a clear HR roadmap focused on organisational effectiveness, scalability, and business growth
  • Own and drive strategic workforce planning, ensuring the right structure, capability, and headcount to support expansion
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to translate business priorities into actionable people strategies
  • Establish robust HR frameworks and governance to strengthen internal capability and decision-making

Strategic Oversight

  • Provide end-to-end oversight of HR operations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across the organisation
  • Drive optimisation of HR processes, systems, and policies to enhance organisational performance and employee experience
  • Track and deliver measurable outcomes across talent, performance, and organisational effectiveness

Requirements:

  • 10-15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within maritime, shipping, or asset-heavy industries
  • Proven track record in leading regional / global HR functions and managing senior stakeholders
  • Strong experience in HR transformation, organisational development, and change management
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how HR drives business performance
  • Experience in multi-country environments, navigating cultural and regulatory complexities
