We are supporting a leading international insurer in expanding its High Net Worth (HNW) underwriting capability across Asia. This role sits within a specialist team focused on ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) business, primarily within Variable Universal Life (VUL) products.
This is more than a traditional underwriting role. The successful candidate will be part of a growing platform, working closely with regional and global stakeholders while contributing to the development and expansion of the HNW underwriting function in Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex medical and financial underwriting for high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients
- Assess large and complex cross-border cases across VUL, IUL, UL, and ILP products
- Collaborate closely with distribution, brokers, case management teams, and senior stakeholders
- Provide underwriting insights and contribute to case structuring and decision-making
- Support governance, audit, and underwriting quality control processes
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of underwriting practices and HNW proposition in Asia
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in life insurance underwriting, with exposure to HNW or complex cases
- Experience in UL / ILP products; exposure to VUL / IUL is advantageous
- Strong medical and financial underwriting capability with sound risk assessment skills
- Comfortable working with stakeholders across multiple functions and regions
- Ability to operate independently while contributing to a growing and evolving team
