Job Title: High Performance Manager (Sanda)

Reporting To: Technical Director

Position Overview

The High Performance Manager (Sanda) is responsiblefor the development, planning, and delivery of Singapore's Sanda programme,with the long-term objective of achieving sustained high-performance outcomesat major international competitions. Working closely with the TechnicalDirector, National Coaches, and performance specialists, the role will lead thestructured development of the Sanda pathway, strengthening athleteidentification, coaching systems, and performance environments to progressivelybuild Singapore's competitiveness in the discipline.

The role will also collaborate with national partners suchas the High Performance Sports Institute (HPSI) and the SingaporeCombat Sports Centre (SCSC) to strengthen athlete development andperformance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Development and Planning

  • Lead the development and implementation of Singapore's Sanda programme, aligned with the federation's Multi-Year Sports Plan (MYSP) and annual performance plans.
  • Support the long-term growth of the discipline by establishing structured training environments, athlete development pathways, and coaching systems.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning required to build sustained high-performance capability in Sanda.

Athlete Development and Performance Management

  • Work closely with National Coaches to monitor athlete progression and competition readiness.
  • Support the preparation of athletes for international competitions including regional and continental events, while building towards future podium outcomes at major championships.
  • Coordinate athlete performance support through HPSI, including sports science, strength and conditioning, and sports medicine services.

Talent Identification and Pathway Development

  • Strengthen the Sanda athlete development pipeline, including talent identification and progression pathways.
  • Explore Taolu - Sanda transition pathways.
  • Collaborate with clubs, coaches, and development programmes to identify athletes with potential for national representation.
  • Support initiatives that encourage athlete transition into Sanda from other combat sports where appropriate.

Programme Operations

  • Oversee the operational delivery of the Sanda programme, including training coordination, overseas competitions, and athlete monitoring systems.
  • Where relevant, supervise the High-Performance Executive (Sanda) to ensure effective programme administration and logistics.

Budgeting and Resource Management

. Support the Technical Director in the planningand management of programme budgets related to the Sanda programme. Includingbut not limited to:

o Planningbudget requirements for training camps, competitions, and programme initiatives

o Monitoringexpenditure against approved budgets

o Supportingfinancial reporting and justification for programme funding.

o Ensureefficient and responsible use of resources in accordance with SWDLDF financialpolicies and relevant governance frameworks.

Policy Implementation and Governance Compliance

. Support the implementation of SWDLDF policiesrelated to athlete development and programme delivery. Including:

o SafeSportand athlete safeguarding policies

o Selections,governance and operational policies

Strategic Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Singapore Combat Sports Centre (SCSC) and other combat sports National Sports Associations to support:
  • Talent identification initiatives
  • Cross-sport training and sparring opportunities
  • Athlete talent transfer between combat sports, where appropriate
  • Collaborative programme development.

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

  • Maintain effective working relationships with HPSI, coaches, athletes, and partner institutions.
  • Support programme reporting and performance reviews with SWDLDF leadership and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Sport Science, Sports Management, Coaching, or a related field
  • Experience working in high-performance or athlete development environments
  • Strong understanding of athlete development pathways and competition preparation
  • Experience working with coaches, athletes, and sport science professionals
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
