Role Description

A Help Desk Support professional provides technical assistance and support to end-users, resolving IT issues and ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, software, and hardware. This role serves as the first point of contact for technical problems within an organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Respond to and troubleshoot technical issues via phone, email, or chat
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network components
  • Provide guidance to users on IT systems, applications, and tools
  • Log and track incidents, requests, and resolutions in a ticketing system
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT teams as needed
  • Perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups
  • Assist in IT onboarding for new employees and user training
  • Maintain documentation of procedures, FAQs, and technical guides
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues
Qualifications

Typical qualifications for Help Desk Support include:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 03 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or technical support roles
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), software, and hardware
  • Basic networking knowledge (LAN, WAN, VPN)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • IT certifications (CompTIA A+, ITIL, Microsoft Certified) are a plus
