Company's Background
We are a Singapore-based hedge fund manager with a primary focus on Japanese equities. As we continue to expand our strategies and AUM, we are looking for a highly disciplined and detail-oriented Operations Specialist to join our team.
Working closely with the Operations Manager and reporting to the Head of Operations, this role is strictly process-driven. The core focus is ensuring the flawless execution of daily operational workflows, from trade processing to reconciliations. We are looking for a highly reliable operator who focuses on accurate, timely delivery and seamless coordination with our prime brokers and fund administrator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Processing: Manage the daily trade lifecycle from T+0 matching through to settlement, ensuring all trades across Asian markets are accurately captured and processed without delay.
- Reconciliation & NAV: Perform rigorous daily cash, position, and trade reconciliations. Coordinate directly with the Fund Administrator to investigate breaks, resolve discrepancies, and finalise the monthly NAV.
- Counterparty Coordination: Act as the operational contact for executing brokers and Prime Brokers to ensure smooth trade matching and fail management.
- Operational Support: Handle basic compliance monitoring and reporting data preparation to support the broader team.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2 to 5 years experience in a hedge fund, prime brokerage, or fund administration.
- Operational Discipline: High attention to detail is non-negotiable. You must possess a zero-mistake mindset and the ability to independently process time-sensitive tasks under pressure.
- Product Knowledge: Solid operational understanding of equities and futures. Familiarity with Japanese/Asian market is a strong advantage.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Prior experience working with Order Management Systems (OMS) or Portfolio Management Systems (PMS) is required.
- Communication: Clear, concise communication in English to coordinate efficiently with external counterparties. Proficiency in Japanese is a plus, but not required.
